1. Family Tree
The issue of family tree was raised by Elizabeth Aigoro. She wanted to know if Uncle Joe had finished with the drawings of the family tree. Uncle Joe said he had started with the drawings but apologised he hasn’t quite finished. He promised to finish it as soon as possible. Uncle Joe explained the meaning of Ahimie, and in doing so, he said the family name was derived from “Akhimiemeona” which literally means- “you can’t take my child away from me, even if you take away the mother”.
2. Ahimie Educational Foundation ( Scholarship):
The criteria for the Ahimie Foundation Scholarship was discussed and it was agreed that the beneficiary must be sponsored in government schools (public) up to the university level. This is to keep the memory of AHIMIE and also to elevate the name. Such beneficiaries will be called “Ahimie Scholars”. Modalities will be worked out at subsequent meetings.
3. Ahimie Family House in Sabongidda- Ora:
The issue of the family house in Sabongida-Ora was raised. The family house was said to be very old and renovation will be difficult and expensive, considering that it is built of mud. The meeting resolved that the issue of dilapidation and possible renewal of this Property are beyond this group’s consideration.
It therefore resolved that the Elder Ahimies find ways and means to save the pride of the Ahimie Family by looking into possibilities of befitting redevelopment for the immortalization of the name, AHIMIE, in Ora. The meeting reckoned that the Ahimie Descendants, probably number about 400 and could be mobilised to give support to the Elders in the outcome of their decision.
4. Registering of Association/Opening of Association Account.
It was agreed that Tolu Danjuma would look into the registering of the Ahimie Association. On the opening of account, it was suggested that Tolu Danjuma would join Elizabeth Aigoro as signatory as well as the Head of the Ahimie Descendants Association (Lagos branch) Duro Eboreime
